Native American Indian Youth Leadership Training – May 3-6, 2018

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

-Native American Indian youth in grades 7 through High School who show the natural gifts to be a leader among their peers. (Gifts are not skills, but rather a natural tendency.  This program is to enhance skills.)

– We encourage each leader to bring two or more youth.   An adult must accompany youth when traveling.

 

WHERE?

We are traveling east this year to the West River which is a tributary of Chesapeake Bay.

Only about one hour from Washington DC, we will have opportunity to learn about the Mother Earth Prayer Walkers and to explore how we make a difference.  Youth will return home knowing they are part of a wide network of Native American Youth who serve in their communities and churches.

 

ACCOMMODATIONS

Cabins separated by gender

Bunk beds

Central bathroom and showers

Central dining hall

 

ACTIVITIES

Worship, Songs, Storytelling, Art, Giant Swing; Low Ropes Course, River Prayer Walks, Talking Circle – each is valued, Problem-solving — looking within and moving forward.

Understanding historical grief Leadership activities bringing this generation towards a new way to walk upon the earth in community.

 

COST

Registration is $100 per person.  Lodging, food, & special activities included.  A limited number of scholarships are available according to assessed need.
